Richard Boland and Lenard Farrauto began construction in 1968 of many of the floating homes in Alameda, Sausalito and the Delta.

Some of their original designs have been modified by their owners but many of the 55 floating homes delivered by Marina Homes Co. are still on the same fiberglassed barges or pontoons built from 1968 to 1978.
